The wonders of Sauvie Island

I just got done birding at Sauvie Island with my dad and uncle.  There were several things that showed up too briefly to identify.  One of them, I actually got a couple pictures of.

It seems like a Song Sparrow, but it has no tail.  My uncle saw 2 of them.  I just saw this one.  Anyone have any ideas?

We also saw:

  • Osprey
  • Double-Crested Cormorant
  • American Crow

  2. OH yeah, and those birds def look like Song Sparrows- maybe just young and haven't grown their tails yet?

  3. It's hard to describe, but shortly after Reeder rd meets Gillihan rd, there's a gravel pull off with just an outhouse and poster board type thing. Well I was looking up the stream, pointing about north-west and a flock flew by going south-west. It was a small-ish flock, around 30-50 birds.
    Good luck! :)
